I have to repaint a room that's already painted bold pink (not hot, but not pastel either, in between).
I have some leftover blue and thought I'd use that. On the paint sampler it's the third color down from the top, so it's also sort of bold in color.
Question 1. - the room is approximately 12'x9' and 7 1/2' in height. will one coat be enough to cover the pink? I ask because I really cannot afford to go and purchase even another quart.
Question 2. - if the pink shows through could there be a possibility that the blue may look periwinkle in color?
Question 3. - if I take the blue to a paint dealer (should I somehow come up with the money) could they turn it to a periwinkle color (blue/purple)?
Sorry for all the questions but, whew I've never encountered this dilema before!
Thanks for any and all serious replies :-)
Interior wall painting questions.?
Agallon of paint will go approx 400 sq feet, so if you have 1 and a half gallons left you can do 2 coats, if you need more paint don't bring in your last little bit and match it then finish the room odds are the match won't be exact so you will wanna box it in (mix all the paint your going to use in that room into 1 container) go to a paint store like sherwin williams or hirshfields or such and ask for there opps paint, (is mixed paint they messed up on) you can get this for a about $4.00 a gallon have them tint it to your other paint mix togetrher and paint the room 2 coats.
Reply:Well first you need to buy some white primer to go over that pink so it doesn't bleed into the blue and give you purple walls. Then you should be fine. After the white primer drys add the blue.
Reply:question one...no t wont cover in one coat
number two....no it will not look perriwinkle
number three....yes it could be tinted to the color you want
