Why do you think a (American) mother would name her newborn daughter an unusual name like "Periwinkle?" (I LOVE that name myself (lol.) It's just so unusual.)

Question for American women...?
People name their children all sorts of "odd" names for different reasons - they want their child to be different, for example. I would never personally name my child Periwinkle because I can only imagine the teasing that would take place.
